SOLD Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Open Armchair English, circa 1900–1915

A fine Edwardian mahogany open armchair of elegant proportions, the shaped top rail above a marquetry-inlaid back panel decorated with stylised Art Nouveau foliate motifs and scrolling detail. The central shield-shaped reserve retains its decorative fabric insert, bordered with braid trim.

The shaped open arms flow gracefully into square tapering supports, united by stretchers. The drop-in seat is upholstered to match the back panel in a later Arts & Crafts style floral fabric.

A decorative and comfortable occasional chair with strong period character.
